Meet Nancy
I believe meaningful change begins when you feel safe enough to be honest— with yourself and with someone who is truly listening.
Hello, and welcome! I’m Nancy Gonzalez-McKenzie, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering online therapy throughout California. As a survivor of sexual trauma and the first person in my family to earn a college degree, I understand the courage it can take to change long-standing patterns and imagine a different future.
My style is warm, open-minded, and solution-oriented. I create a nurturing space while also being direct and helping you stay connected to the goals that brought you to therapy.
You may be here because
You do not need to have the perfect words—or be at a breaking point— to begin exploring what needs to change.
You may be functioning day to day while still feeling tense, disconnected, emotionally exhausted, or unsure when you last felt like yourself.
Overthinking, fear, panic, or constant anticipation may be affecting your decisions, relationships, sleep, or ability to enjoy the present.
Trauma can affect how safe you feel, how you see yourself, and the patterns you carry into your relationships.
Part of you may know that more is possible, even if you are unsure how to build consistency, trust yourself, or take the next step.
You can begin with a simple conversation about what has been feeling difficult.
How therapy works
Therapy with me is collaborative and focused on helping you understand what brought you here while building the skills and consistency needed to move forward.
Sessions are designed to feel nurturing, compassionate, and free of judgment, so you can speak openly about what you are experiencing.
We may explore your past to better understand the present, while keeping the work connected to the changes you want to make now.
Therapy may include coping strategies, intentional goals, and work between sessions to help insight become meaningful change.
